yes...
its true.
u x read wrongly...
we dissected a frog during bio(maybe more than 1...)
but god,
the thing would still move after we pin it to the board...
anyway...
the process started out when a student shock the frog with thinner in its container...
well, thats to make it brain dead and numb all its pain neurons..
we continues to cut it open by slicing off its skin...slowly..
so we don't cut any major ateries and cause the frog to die of extensive bleeding la...
then after observing the extensive blood vessals below the skin of the frog,
the surgeon(another student) did the same for the frog's skin and cut it all off...
bt now, we could see the internal organs of the frog..
despite the fact that it was dead by the time we did that,
its heart was still beating...
even out of its chest when all of us took turns holding it...
creepy right...
but there's actually a scientific explanation for this...
its because of the myogenic nature of the heart that causes the heart to continue to beat
according to the teacher, it would continue on so until the ATP in the heart is all used up...
wat is ATP?
well,
u'll just have to accept it as te cellular energy of (duh) a cell...
but the most gruesome part has yet to come...
cause the bloodiest part is when the guys...
cut the frog into pieces...
you would recognise it but as a frog that lost 2 limbs and all its internal organs plus most of its skin and flesh...
i guess that pretty much fits the description of it...
However...
the most gross performance was by a fellow classmate...
he ate the largest frog heart there raw with lime...
he even chewed before he swallowed...
anyway..
that was the climax of the class...
we clean up and disposed of the bodies after that...
sounds like a horrible crime doesn't it...
anyway...there are no pictures here...
cause i wouldn't wan anyone to lose their appetite and blame it on me...
but if u wanna c it,
let me know...
just don't regret it...
i don't think i'm game for cutting up another frog...
that's all for now..

As the PDM of 08/09
Haven't updated the blog in a while...
cause have been really busy with Flag Day...
but now,
i totally relieved...since that the event is finally over and someone else is gonna be the PDM...
back looking back,
i've learnt a lot this past term acting as the PDM...
be it pleasant or otherwise,
I'm glad that i did it and though there are a few things i hope to improve on,
I regret little and am truly grateful for the experience.
Certainly, i thank the people that have given me the change in the first place...
you all have gave me a learning experience that i most certainly won't forget..
The past year may have post many challenges but I'm glad I made it through one way or another.
so, to the one taking over,
I wish u the best of luck.
